You matter.

In all honesty; it’s a crisis. We are in a crisis of meaning.

Every morning I take my dog on a walk; listen to a podcast and enjoy the stillness of my somewhat little town before most are awake. Roughly a week ago on my morning walk; tears filled my eyes. I couldn’t help but think of how grateful I am and I began to think of the lost, the homeless, the hurting, the abandoned, the broken, the abused, the lonely and everyone hurting. I started to wonder if they knew they matter. If they knew their creator. Honestly, it seems like we have lost the knowledge of what makes our lives meaningful. I feel as though many struggle to feel valued, loved and heard. It’s the cause of why some don’t get out of bed, some don’t open up and some no longer want to even exist. It’s a burden that no person can carry for long.

Meaning doesn’t come from nothing. You and I are made in the image of God; we are valuable not by what we can do or become. Our value is a permanent part of our nature. It does not need to be acquired; its intrinsic. The bible mentions in Genesis 1:26-27 that we are made in his image. Our nature is sort of like a shadow; a likeness of God and by that his glory and what God is like is revealed in us. But farther more than that, you are loved by him. Our lives could not be worth more. His love is unconditional. His love for both you and I is entirely rooted in his holy nature and not by your actions or accomplishments, successes or failures. You will always be loved by God and in this, God’s glory is manifested and your value is secure.

You matter.

Let go of what you cannot control. Trust in God. Put your identity in only him. learn to enjoy your life as you experience it and not as you want it to be. Enjoy the simple things. Take time for yourself. Know God, talk to him and let him be the center of your life.

He has a specific plan for your life.
